Active retirees support My Finance Coach

2009, when the former CEO ABV AG, Markus Rieß asked Harald Lohse if he wanted to support the Allianz financial literacy initiative, the ex-general agent from Weiden didn't have to think about it very long. Good cause, great idea - I'm in. Looking for a man with a tremendous standing into the ABV – there was no one better than Harald Lohse. Thanks to his many years of experience in sales, some important doors were opened for My Finance Coach, in Allianz agencies in particular. But Harald Lohse doesn't just work in the background - he is also an active Finance Coach. It is in particular thanks to his commitment that his former agency in Weiden leads the field in the nationwide ranking for completed class visits, and it comes as no surprise to him. "Weiden was top of the tree when I was working there, and it still is now" he says with a smirk.

Just like Harald Lohse, Tileman Fischer has also been supporting My Finance Coach from the outset. "Throughout my career, I have always liked being there when something new was being launched", the former CEO of Allianz RE Asia Pacific says about his reasons for wanting to play a part in My Finance Coach. Thanks to his former job, Tileman Fischer has excellent contacts abroad who can make a significant contribution to My Finance Coach's internationalization strategy. Tileman Fischer is proud of his former employer for taking action on such an important topic as young people's financial literacy.

These retirees' expertise is a godsend for all involved: Tilemann Fischer, Klaus Samwer, Harald Lohse (from left)

The third person in the group is Klaus Samwer. The former head of the Auto claims department for the North-West service region joined My Finance Coach at the beginning of the year and has been bursting with enthusiasm for the good cause ever since. In the past Klaus Samwer already wored complinantary for Allianz. About more than six years he headed the "Interessengemeinschaft der Leitenden Angestellten" till 2010. Working from his native Rhineland region, Klaus Samwer makes sure that My Finance Coach is able to achieve the same popularity in the north of Germany as it has in the republic's southern states.

Barbara Roder and Christian Keller, the two managing directors of My Finance Coach, are grateful to have the three retirees on board. "Their wealth of experience is of great benefit to us, as are their contacts throughout the group and their knowledge of how Allianz works."

Allianz is keen for "veterans" such as these to take part in ongoing projects and promotes this participation as a special kind of diversity. These retirees' expertise is a godsend for all involved. Young people may be able to run fast, but those with experience know all the shortcuts.

Moreover, the fact that these pensioners remain involved with Allianz beyond retirement age shows that, over the course of the past years and decades, they have come to see Allianz not only as an employer but also as a something of a family to which they still feel they belong. This is a special form of loyalty that Allianz can be proud of. The example of My Finance Coach goes to show: there are no young or old employees, but only committed and less committed ones. My Finance Coach looks forward to a continued cooperation with senior citizens in the future.
