DAX
The DAX® index measures the performance of German shares. The constituents are the 40 German companies with the highest market capitalization based on their free float. The base date is December 31, 1987 and the starting value 1000 points.
The weighting is based on the free float market capitalization, i.e. on the freely tradable shares only and not on the entire market value. The non-free float is owned by major, long-term oriented investors who hold at least 5% of the share capital; the latter is not taken into consideration in the weighting. The non-free float also includes treasury shares, i.e. shares held by the company itself, irrespective of the size of the shareholding.
EURO STOXX 50
The EURO STOXX 50® is a subset of the wider EURO STOXX. The constituents are the 50 companies with the highest market capitalization based on their free float. The index is composed of listed companies from countries with the Euro as common currency. The base date is December 31, 1991 and the starting value 1000 points.
STOXX Europe 600 Insurance
The STOXX® Europe 600 Insurance contains all insurance companies included in the STOXX Europe 600 and hence represents the performance of the European insurance sector. The STOXX Europe 600 includes those European companies with the highest market capitalization based on their free float. The base date is December 31, 1991 and the starting value 100 points.
