Allianz summer of football

The family football festival, the FC Bayern team presentation in the Allianz Arena and the 5th Allianz Junior Football Camp in Munich: Allianz is organizing a summer of football

In the Allianz Arena on July 23, there was football for the whole family. Over 30,000 people enjoyed the presentation of the new FC Bayern München team and took part in the team's third public training session. In just a few weeks' time, the 5th Allianz Junior Football Camp will also be getting underway, with 75 participants from 25 countries. The teenagers will spend a week training in Munich.

On July 23, around one thousand "flood volunteers" accepted an invitation from FC Bayern and Allianz to attend the family festival. They had spent several weeks in June helping in the areas of Bavaria and northern Germany that were the worst affected by the flood of the century. Their invitation to join the festival at the Allianz Arena was intended to be a small thank you for their contribution.

"We were delighted to be able to organize the presentation of our team for the 2013/2014 season in collaboration with Allianz, our partner of many years," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Chairman of the Board of Management of FC Bayern München AG. "The event with Allianz on July 23 was something really special: the whole squad was there for the first time, and the players were introduced to the audience individually. I'm really pleased that we were able to offer our fans such a great experience free of charge, as a thank you for a brilliant season."

Coach Pep Guardiola's new team was accompanied into the Allianz Arena by children from the Munich area. "It was so cool to be able to stand on the podium with the whole FC Bayern team, right in the middle of the Allianz Arena itself," exclaimed Johanna, one of the small companions.

The family festival began on the esplanade outside the Allianz Arena, with trampolines, table football and other exciting activities for participants to try out. As well as free entry, each guest received a colorful t-shirt. In the stadium itself, alongside the players, popstar Marlon Roudette provided entertainment.

After the presentation of the team, there was a public training session: the first ever with the complete FC Bayern München team. The event was rounded off with penalties against star goalie Manuel Neuer, in which a selection of visitors got the chance to try their goal-scoring luck.

Allianz, FC Bayern München's platinum partner and holder of the naming rights to the Allianz Arena, sponsored the event. The sponsors ensured goosebumps for the audience in spite of the high summer temperatures, with a video message from Allianz ambassador Lang Lang: the star pianist played a special serenade for FC Bayern München.

"We were really happy to be able to welcome the best FC Bayern München team of all time, with its newcomers and coach Pep Guardiola, to the Allianz Arena. We rang in the 2013/2014 season with fans, our customers, our employees and, naturally, our partner FC Bayern München. The fact that we were also able to give the many people who helped after the flooding disaster a treat as well was the cherry on the cake," said Joseph K. Gross, Head of Group Market Management at Allianz SE.

Allianz Junior Football Camp in 2013 – already for the 5th time

Also this summer, another Allianz Junior Football Camp will be held in Munich (August 7 to August 12). Allianz invites 75 teenagers from 25 countries to join a week long football adventure, where the junior coaches of FC Bayern München train the kids at the club’s training grounds. The teens will play and live together and get a chance to explore Munich. Among the highlights of the week are a tour of the Allianz Arena and watching a football match of FC Bayern München. The Allianz Junior Football Camp is already being held for the 5th time this year – more than 300 teenagers from all over the world have already taken part in the program.

“We know through or youth work and our focus on fans around the world, how powerful initiatives like the Allianz Junior Football Camp are: Allianz brings the next generation of football players and fans to play and explore together. Every year, the Camp has become bigger and more successful and we are proud, together with our partner Allianz, to be able to make the Allianz Junior Football Camp happen for the fifth time already”, says Andreas Jung, Head of Marketing of FC Bayern München.

Partners Allianz and FC Bayern München

Starting in the season of 2013 / 14, Allianz is platinum partner of FC Bayern München. This means a continuation of the partnership, which started already in 2000. In addition, cooperation on the digital front and the international scope of the partnership will be deepened. Allianz and FC Bayern München will use their global scope – especially in the growth markets of Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and South America – to strengthen brand recognition of both organizations. In the home market, the partnership will also become more visible through innovative product offers for fans and intensified cooperation on youth programs and women’s football. For Allianz, the cooperation with FC Bayern München is an important part of sport sponsorship and a commitment to its home town Munich
