E-driving is good and fun

Allianz supports the mobility solutions of tomorrow: Oliver Bäte, Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, picked up one of the first BMWi3s for Allianz. Right now, already some 10 percent of the fleet are electric.

Oliver Bäte, Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, was one of the first clients to pick up a BMWi3 at BMW-World in Munich. The car will be part of the Allianz management fleet in Munich.

“By integrating e-cars into the Allianz fleet, we are supporting the mobility solutions of today and tomorrow,” says Oliver Bäte of Allianz SE. ”It’s important that Allianz is a leader when it comes to delivering solutions for the challenges that society faces. We support a decrease in CO2 emissions and as an insurer and investor, we also support the guarantee of energy supplies and the development of renewable energies.”

So far, there are not that many e-cars on the roads. For example, in Germany, figures from September 2013 showed around 11.000 cars running electric.

“We want to increase the acceptance of e-cars,” says Bäte. “One way of reaching this goal is by actually driving them. Currently, already 10 percent of our management fleet are e-vehicles, this is how we bring the future onto the road. The reactions of staff and clients are all very positive. Driving on electricity is something good – and it’s even fun.”

Allianz has reduced its own CO2 emissions already by 35.6 percent since 2006.
