Allianz recognized as a Sustainable Insurer by Dow Jones Sustainability Index
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) is one of the world’s most recognized sustainability ratings. Allianz is a longstanding member of the DJSI, initially choosing it because of the quality of the rating methodology and its importance to investors.
“A good ranking in a priority rating such as the DJSI is important because it is an indication that we are not only a sustainable company but a shaper in this field”, said Line Hestvik, Chief Sustainability Officer. “We will continue the intensive work in this area and will analyze our scores and use it as a learning for our further sustainability efforts. My thank you goes to all Allianz colleagues who have worked passionately on sustainability throughout the year to integrate across our daily business around the world.”
In general, sustainability ratings track the sustainability performance of companies in terms of environmental, social, and governance criteria (ESG) and provide information on where they stand compared to the theoretical optimum and to peers. In some cases, however, ratings measure how ESG factors affect a company’s performance. Such ratings show how resilient the company is to ESG factors and thus how well adapted Allianz is. Allianz has been working passionately to integrate climate action and sustainability across its business around the world.
