AGCS wins Reactions "European Insurer of the Year" award

The Reactions Awards are designed to recognize and reward the corporate and individual achievers of the insurance and reinsurance markets. Each year Reactions polls its readers to hear from them which firms, deals and initiatives as well as industry figures are performing a cut above the rest.

"I am happy and proud to announce that publication Reactions has given Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty the award 'European Insurer of the Year'," commented Axel Theis, CEO of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. "This reflects the combined efforts of our colleagues worldwide and shows bright prospects for the company’s future."

Over the past several months, 14,000 readers were contacted for their opinions. Participants included risk managers, insurance and reinsurance managers/underwriters, law firms, brokers and a number of senior executives in the industry. They were interviewed and surveyed, asked to list their top choices in categories such as "Global non-life reinsurance company of the year," "Alternative risk transfer of the year," and "Primary insurance company – Europe."

"The award shows that the important transformation process in creating AGCS has clearly paid off and that we have positioned ourselves as the leading partner of choice for brokers and risk managers," said Clem Booth, Allianz SE board member.

The Reactions Global Awards took place on August 28 in New York.
