AllianzGI Investments Europe signs UN PRI

AllianzGI Investments Europe launched in May 2010 and manages assets of more than 118 billion Euros for institutional and retail clients across Europe1. Allianz Global Investors France S.A. which comprises the Paris based investment management operations of AllianzGI Investments Europe signed the UN PRI back in 2007.

Giovanni Bagiotti, Chief Executive Officer of AllianzGI Investments Europe comments: "We are highly committed to the UN PRI and it was a natural step for us to extend our commitment to encompass all operations of AllianzGI Investments Europe. This sustainable approach – integrating environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues – will apply to all our investment analysis and decision-making process, as well as in our ownership policies and practices, as required by the Principles. Building upon the strong progress made by AllianzGI France in its 2009 annual PRI evaluation and confirmed in 2010, the PRI will continue to provide an ambitious long term vision, roadmap and framework, which will serve to guide our new organisation."

With a dedicated inhouse SRI team of 10 fund managers and analysts AllianzGI Investments Europe is a major player for sustainable and responsible investments in Europe. Nearly 10 billion Euros assets under management and advisory are dedicated to SRI strategies. Every year the UN PRI signatories are evaluated against the implementation of these principles in their investment policies and practices. In 2010, AllianzGI France ranked in 1st and 2nd quartile in its peer group of 192 investment companies in the section "mainstream asset manager" worldwide in six out of seven categories2. Novethic, the leading French research centre for corporate social responsibility and SRI, reconfirmed its SRI label to AllianzGI Investments Europe's five mutual funds managed with SRI strategies. In the "SRI & Sustainability Survey 2010" conducted by Thomson Reuters Extel/UKSIF Allianz Global Investors ranked 4th among the top 20 asset management firms in understanding of SRI & sustainability investors.
