On December 31, 2016 the share register of Allianz SE contained 520,875 shareholders. Apart from approximately 1% of Allianz shares held in treasury, all our shares continue to be held in free float.

  Voting rights announcements

Pursuant to § 21.1 of the German Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz - WpHG), anyone who reaches, exceeds or falls below certain voting right thresholds (3%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% or 75%) in respect of a domestic issuer as a result of acquisition, sale or for other reasons is obliged to report this to both the issuer and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht -BaFin) without delay, but within four trading days at the latest.

Since February 1, 2012, more stringent notification obligations have applied to financial instruments and "other instruments" pursuant to §§ 25, 25a of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG). The notification obligation set out in § 25a now also covers financial instruments and other instruments that were not previously covered by § 25 and that allow their direct or indirect holder, either in de facto or economic terms, to acquire shares carrying voting rights issued by a listed issuer.

Pursuant to § 26.1 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG), Allianz SE is obliged to publish voting rights announcements pursuant to §§ 21, 22 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) and announcements pursuant to §§ 25, 25a of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG).
