For people who use a wheelchair, walker or pushchair, stairs are the most common limitation to mobility. Allianz is supporting the campaign MapMyDay to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a Donation campaign on Facebook.
You can do your bit. For each ‘like’, one euro goes to the not-for-profit organization Wheelmap to finance wheelchair ramps.
Everyone can also contribute with knowledge: on wheelmap.org, an online map showing spaces suitable for wheelchair users, anyone can tag accessible public places that they know from their neighborhood or their daily commute. For example: subway stations with an elevator, cafés, supermarkets or other shops without a step at the entrance. The more locations found on the digital town maps, the more useful they are to users.

The Representative Body for Disabled Employees at Allianz is also calling for participation in MapMyDay: "It is a wonderful campaign, and we hope that many will take part in it so that lots of ramps can be built," says Jörg Sticht, Group representative for the German Allianz companies for persons with disabilities. "A lot of people find this app to be a great help."
