Strengthening the next generation’s resilience for a better tomorrow

MoveNow promotes health, movement, and well-being as key drivers of resilience, belonging, and inclusive participation. It highlights how physical activity through sports, daily movement, and access to health-promoting environments empowers individuals and builds stronger, more connected communities.

Launched in 2022 together with the International Olympic Committee, MoveNow began as a global initiative to inspire youth movement during the pandemic. Rooted in an independent research study on the benefits of sports and physical activity, it quickly evolved into one of Allianz’s most impactful social initiatives.

Since 2024, MoveNow has become Allianz’s overarching strategic framework for our social impact and corporate citizenship initiatives. As part of this strategy, we are promoting physical activity, well-being, and inclusive access to sports as essential drivers of confidence, resilience, and community participation.
From sports camps to movement-focused health campaigns, MoveNow initiatives unlock opportunities for young people everywhere to grow, thrive, and belong.

2024

We launched the Power of Unity program at the end of 2024 to bridge divides, foster belonging, and restore confidence in a shared future. And now it’s time for the next step. Get ready for the Unity Awards – celebrating those who bring people together through sports. The Unity Awards – launched together with the International Olympic Committee – recognize individuals who use sport as an enabler to address social or community challenges, fostering inclusion and connection that makes sport more than just a game.

From September 12th to 16th 2024, together with our partner FC Bayern München, we hosted the second MoveNow Camp – Global Edition for young athletes aged 14-16 in Munich.

Chosen through Allianz-hosted sports camps or events in their home countries, 30 talented young athletes traveled from 10 countries to our international sports camp in Munich, Germany, where they took part in professional athletic training in various disciplines (including mindfulness and teamwork).

In 2024,  Allianz Croatia with the Croatian National Olympic and Paralympic Committees launched a very special event. Hour for Us encouraged parents to spend meaningful time with their children to strengthen emotional bonds and support mental well-being. More than 400 families joined a public event featuring Olympic and Paralympic sports activities and educational theatre on financial literacy.

Through the MoveNow Program we have, together with the International Olympic Committee, commissioned an independent research study to identify young people’s engagement with sports and physical activity.

We surveyed five thousand youths between 12 and 24 years and two thousand parents across 10 countries. What we found out: while the majority of parents and young people recognize the benefits of playing sport, the level of engagement remains insufficient.

Importance

90% of young people play sports to improve physical health. Those who are active at least once a week are more likely to report a positive mood and self-confidence.
Girl playing basketball in the gym, figure 46%

Young people find it easier to concentrate at school when doing physical activity (46%). In addition, they develop “human capital,” including knowledge and teamwork.
Boys playing football, figure 72%

Seventy-two percent (72%) of young people think playing sports is important, including 32% who think it is very important.
Barriers

Young people report having other responsibilities as the main barrier, preventing them from playing more sport.
While sport and movement remain core elements, the strategy encompasses topics such as education, health, community development, and sustainability.
