MoveNow : Mental Health Day

Let's MoveNow!

Imagine a classroom of 28 teenagers. Statistically, four of them are silently battling a mental disorder.

That is the reality revealed by the recent data from the World Health Organization: one in seven adolescents aged 10 to 19 is living with a mental health condition. Mental health is no longer a concern of individuals. It is a shared concern across families, schools, workplaces and entire communities.

At Allianz, we believe a strong mind is more than the ability to cope, it is the foundation for thriving in school, work and life, and for a confident and capable next generation. These core capabilities are closely linked to overall well-being, participation, and resilience.

Here is where the Allianz Social Impact and Corporate Citizenship strategy ‘’MoveNow’’ plays a key role in this effort.  MoveNow stands for action, proactivity and making a difference – now. It is built on the belief that taking action today helps build a stronger tomorrow.

MoveNow is part of our commitment to sustainability, focused on strengthening resilience, unity and inclusive growth amongst the youth and underserved – helping them become stronger, bolder, and more optimistic for the future.

The core of our efforts is getting communities to move:

  1. The Mind: We aim to strengthen mental and emotional resilience, literacy, and future-ready skills of individuals by supporting access to education and essential learning opportunities.
  2. The Body: We engage communities through sports, physical activity, and health promotion.
  3. The Society: We support larger-scale efforts and partnerships to address broader social and environmental challenges faced by communities today.

With Allianz being present in over 70+ countries, MoveNow supports various global and local initiatives.

When crises occur, it’s important that people of all ages, including children, have both basic and practical skills to face challenges and find their way through. The MoveNow Heroes by Allianz Ayudhya provides children the tools and opportunities to learn essential skills like emergency response, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and first aid skills, practical knowledge that can save lives. Allianz Ayudhya employees step in as volunteer trainers, forming a skilled volunteer team after the “Train the Trainer” session held by Teach for Life Association. Together, they are building resilience in communities and making sure children are mentally and physically prepared, especially in areas that are or could be affected by disasters.

Following recent violent incidents in schools across Central Europe that deeply shook communities and underscored the urgent need to prioritize well-being, more and more parents are seeking meaningful ways to support their children's mental health. This is where the Hour for Us initiative, launched in 2024 by Allianz Croatia , in partnership with the Croatian National Olympic Committee and Croatian National Paralympic Committee, steps in. The initiative encourages parents to spend more quality time with their children, fostering stronger bonds and promoting mental well-being. To bring this mission to life,  Allianz organized a public event that welcomes over 400 families, who engaged in various Olympic and Paralympic sports and enjoyed educational theatre shows on the topic of financial literacy.

Allianz employees actively supported the public event and contributed to the project by co-creating ideas in digital sessions alongside sports ambassadors, including Olympian Janica Kostelić and Paralympian Ana Sršen, ensuring the program reflects the real needs of families. At its core, the project promotes active engagement and emotional connection between parents and kids.

These efforts are part of more than 20 initiatives supported by the Allianz MoveNow Impact Fund across the Allianz Group, all aimed at fostering more resilient, healthier and connected communities.

"Corporate citizenship is important for us at Allianz. Our MoveNow program creates results through social projects, volunteer work, and partnerships.
