Allianz today announced that it has exercised its right to terminate the legacy PIMCO employee equity plan (M Unit Plan) and will purchase outstanding PIMCO M Units for cash. M Unit options were awarded to employees between 2008 and 2020, and the outstanding M Units held by former and current employees represent a 9.4 percent ownership in PIMCO.

The Supervisory Board of Allianz SE and Günther Thallinger have mutually agreed that Mr. Thallinger’s term as member of the Board of Management will conclude on December 31, 2026. Andreas Wimmer, Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, will assume additional responsibility for Allianz Investment Management SE. Tomas Kunzmann, upon joining the Board of Management of Allianz SE on January 1, 2027, will assume further responsibility for Global Health and Sustainability (ESG).
The Board of Management of Allianz SE will be reduced from nine to eight members.
