What is "Power of Unity"?
“Power of Unity” is a multi-year, multi-pronged program to reinforce common ground, and to help individuals and organizations engage more constructively in the face of growing polarization worldwide.
Through research, thought leadership, and learning programs and events, the program seeks to promote dialogue and respectful debate, bridge divides by encouraging understanding, and restore trust in societal institutions.
What do we want to achieve with "Power of Unity"?
With "Power of Unity", we want to inform, inspire and involve all our stakeholders to bring people together and to overcome disagreement. We want to instill a sense of belonging and investment in a better, shared future.
How do we support people through "Power of Unity"?
Allianz supports people through education, skills, tools, events and initiatives. For example through easy-access tools and trainings on how to identify and act on fake news, defuse tension through respectful listening and debate, and maintain confidence during uncertainty.
We also support through various initiatives and partnerships: As one example, Allianz Partners Australia has partnered with Foodbank Australia, the country’s largest food relief organization, to support over 4,500 international students this year struggling with food insecurity. This initiative helps ensure that economic barriers do not prevent students from fully participating in university life.
Other initiatives include Allianz's 2025 "Top30bis30" Awards, which celebrate young journalists, promoting unity and diversity, while highlighting AI's impact on journalism.
Beyond these concrete actions and initiatives, we also offer inspiration through our thought leadership hub, which includes articles from prominent voices like IPC President, Adam Parsons, Holocaust survivor, Margot Friedländer, or FC Bayern player and global Allianz brand ambassador, Harry Kane.
Why did we launch the "Power of Unity"program?
Unity is the bridge to prosperity, creating fertile ground for trust and a foundation for economic and societal strength. It overcomes challenges with optimism and creates alliances that bring people together.
The program is founded not only on publicly observable trends, but also on Allianz’s insights. For example Allianz Research’s Social Resilience Index (read the newest edition here) cites that polarization and social unrest have increased in many countries, and with a sizable economic cost. The strength of democratic institutions, social cohesion, and trust in functioning markets and economies are being affected by increased partisanship. Through the Power of Unity, we want to demonstrate that we can face challenging times with optimism and alliances to bridge divides and bring people together.
Why is the "Power of Unity" key to building a more prosperous world?
When discord replaces common purpose, economic growth stagnates. These publicly observable trends are supplemented by Allianz’s own research, which shows that people see polarization as damaging to economic prosperity and their personal wealth.
Conversely, a more united world is a world that is more prosperous, more confident and more prepared to meet future challenges. In a world increasingly characterized by division, the concept of unity emerges as a societal imperative and an economic necessity.

How does "Power of Unity" connect with existing Allianz initiatives and programs?
Power of Unity builds on existing Allianz community initiatives that promote skill-building, health and resilience. We believe supporting local efforts creates a ripple effect that strengthens social cohesion and trust.
Initiatives like JOBLINGE, Cyber Talent Academy, and our partnerships with the Olympic and Paralympic movements exemplify our commitment to community engagement.
We also focus on internal communities, as building common purpose is essential for a functioning work-life and flourishing organization. To counter polarization, we have organized employee listening sessions, facilitated moderated dialogue and created opportunities for active participation during a roadshow though our regional offices in Germany.
What are some key initiatives within "Power of Unity"?
As the Official Insurer of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements, we know first-hand the power of sports in bringing people together. With the "Unity Awards" we are celebrating those who bring people together through sports.
The "Unity Awards" recognize individuals, coaches, teammates, supporters and parents who use sport as an enabler to address social or community challenges, fostering inclusion and connection that makes sport more than just a game.

This year, we are entering a new phase of our "Power of Unity" program: Sense of Community. Why? Because we believe that resilient communities help everyone feel safer and more confident.
This fresh lens on community is supported by data from the Social Resilience Index 2026 that maps the economic, social, and behavioral factors shaping community strength. It is part of our effort to understand what actually binds people together and to identify the concrete practices, rituals, interactions and conditions that make community thrive or erode across selected markets.
Throughout the year we will share both data and stories from communities navigating a more complex world. This focus aligns with the vision expressed by our CEO, Oliver Bäte, during his World Economic Forum 2026 interview, where he highlighted the importance of active, connected communities.
