While enjoying what should have been a highlight of their European adventure, a serious ski accident on the slopes instantly changed the trajectory of the New Zealand-based couple’s holiday.
In the blink of an eye, the thrill of the mountains was replaced by a helicopter evacuation, urgent medical care, and emergency surgery far from home.
