The Culture Committee for German Business in the Federation of German Industries (BDI) announced the winners of the Deutscher Kulturförderpreis 2014 at an award ceremony. For the second time the German Business culture award went to the Allianz Cultural Foundation for its project "The White Sea - Literature on the Mediterranean" (Das Weiße Meer – Literaturen rund um das Mittelmeer).

The event marked the ten-year anniversary of the accession of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus to the EU. The Allianz Cultural Foundation invited the countries celebrating this anniversary to the Allianz Forum in Berlin one week after the European elections.
