Refugees: providing uncomplicated insurance without the intention of making a profit

“We want to be sure that people who, looking for safety, have had to flee their home country due to war or political persecution can be insured in Germany until they find permanent residence. At the same time, we also want to protect our citizens in the event of damage unintentionally caused by the refugees,” says Alexander Vollert, member of the Board of Management of Allianz Deutschland. In an interview, he explains how, in its capacity as insurance provider, Allianz is contributing to improving Germany’s refugee situation. Allianz Deutschland advocates taking a practical approach to dealing with this unprecedented refugee situation: “Allianz offers local communities group policies that are effective immediately. For three to five euros a month and per person, refugees or asylum seekers can be covered by personal liability insurance again the main risks of day-to-day life.”
