Run Lola Run

Every December, you vow to focus on your health - eat healthier, get enough sleep, meditate, even go jogging. But come January and that stylish pair of running shoes moves to the back of the closet in just a few days.

It’s time to dust them off.

Here’s your chance to run...for better health and a better world. The Allianz World Run calls on all joggers, walkers, hikers, wanderers, sprinters, amblers, strollers and swaggerers to be a part of one of the biggest running events globally.

Don’t let the scale of the event discourage you. Going that extra mile (or several) is as easy as signing up on www.allianzworldrun.com.

Runtastic – a leading digital fitness platform from sporting goods major adidas – will accompany you, tracking your every step and telling you how you are performing.

As you take big strides towards good health, you will also support the health of the society we live in. The funds raised from the Allianz World Run will go to five SOS Children’s Villages, financing projects related to education and emergency preparedness.

The Allianz World Run, which started on July 26, runs through October 24.

Over the past two years of the Allianz World Run, more than 22,000 Allianz employees from 55 countries ran 2.75 million kilometers, each year smashing the record for the “longest cumulative distance run by one team in 90 days”.

This time around, the event has been opened to everyone as Allianz aims to inspire more people to get moving.

The World Run also marks the start of Allianz’s three-year partnership with Runtastic, under which several other campaigns have been planned for the foreseeable future.

At last count, 3,675 participants had already signed up for the Allianz World and covered 34,558 kilometers. No matter what your physical location, you can choose which regional team you want to support - Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, South America or North America. Over the 90-day period, the Runtastic app will tell you how your team is performing.

There are not just distances to be covered but also prizes to be won. Simply capture your explorations in videos or photos and use the hashtag #allianzworldrun whenever you post them on social media. If you catch the eye of our judges, you stand to win exciting prizes.

Health and fun apart, the Allianz World Run aims to raise awareness about the travails of underprivileged children. Protecting and encouraging our future generations is integral to a sustainable tomorrow.

Sydney Bailey, an Allianz employee who participated in the 2017 World Run, saw firsthand how every little step counts. For her, what started out as an effort to stay in shape turned into an experience with a deeper meaning. Last year, Sydney went to Quito in Ecuador to see how her efforts helped children at the local SOS Village - she was part of the team that distributed emergency preparedness packages there.

“After visiting, I really understand what our charity run actually achieved and how important it is,” she says.

This year, three leading runners from each region will get a chance to visit the SOS Village supported by their teams.
