Amer Ahmed joined the Allianz Group in 2002. In 2012, he became the CEO of Allianz Reinsurance. Before joining Allianz, he gained over 13 years of actuarial experience, including as Chief Risk Officer at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in Munich and Chief Actuary at Odyssey Re in London. Amer Ahmed is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. |
Sibylle Steimen joined Allianz Reinsurance’s Catastrophe Risk Management team in 2005. She has been representing Allianz on the management boards of PERILS and OASIS, two industry-led organizations rooted in the field of catastrophe risk management.
Prior to joining Allianz Re, Sibylle worked at the Swiss Seismological Service where she completed a PhD in Seismology.
Simone Ruiz-Vergote joined Allianz Climate Solutions in 2009. Prior to this position, she worked for over five years on the intersection of financial and climate legislation in Brussels and over the years, she gained experience in the banking, public and non-profit sector. Simone holds an Economics degree from HEC Lausanne, a M. Sc. Degree in European and International Politics and Financial Risk Manager certification. |
Markus Stowasser joined Allianz Reinsurance in 2008. Before Allianz Reinsurance, he gained over 6 years of experience in research and consultancy.
Markus holds a degree in Mathematical Finance from the University of Oxford and he is a graduate in Meteorology. He holds a PhD in Physics from the Karlsruhe University of Technology.
Ralf Ludwig is the Dean of the Faculty of Geosciences at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich since 2013. His research experience has been in topics such as remote sensing, geography, and environmental modelling with a focus on hydrology and climate. Ralf Ludwig holds a Ph.D. in Geography from LMU Munich. |
Oliver Wing is the Chief Research Officer at Fathom, a flood risk modelling company. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Geographical Sciences, University of Bristol, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Geography. His research focuses on testing, improving and applying large-scale hydrodynamic models. Oliver emerged as the overall winner of the Allianz Climate Risk Research Award 2019. |
