Allianz provides the best internet service for applicants in Europe and Asia

Just like last year, the Allianz Group again found itself on the winner's podium in the overall potentialpark European and Asian rankings, coming first in the categories "career website" and "social media application", and taking second place in "mobile offers for candidates".

Allianz is committed to optimizing the online services for potential applicants as a long-term objective. The Allianz Group's global career website already provides an overview of all entry-level and development opportunities within the Group. The website serves as a starting point for anyone wanting to join the Allianz Group - whether they want to join in a specific country or start working for one of the globally operating Allianz subsidiaries. Particularly with its mobile application system, the Allianz Group is taking on a leading role in "mobile recruiting". As well as being able to job-hunt while on the move, interested candidates can even apply for specific vacancies "on the go" using their Smartphone or tablet. This move is the Allianz Group's way of embracing increasing digitalization and mobile internet usage.

"The recruitment market has done an about-turn in many sectors. Now, it is no longer about applicants presenting themselves to the company. Companies, too, have to raise their external profiles accordingly", explains Dr. Werner Zedelius, Member of Board of Management of Allianz SE responsible for HR. For him, Allianz's aim of being an "employer of choice" does not mean being attractive to everyone. Rather, it is a question of recruiting the best from the pool of suitable candidates.

Potential applicants no longer get information only from the career website, but make use of a whole range of internet platforms to search for employer information. Social networks are a particularly important point of contact in this respect. The Allianz Group has responded with a presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and also a careers blog known as "One BLUE GENEration". The page facebook.com/AllianzCareers provides various opportunities to candidates, including the chance to contact recruiters from a range of Allianz companies. On Twitter, Allianz, together with other renowned German and international companies, recently organized the first Twitter jobs fair.

Transparency and authenticity are essential features of employer communication at Allianz. This also includes allowing applicants to get an idea in advance of what they will experience later on. So an excellent global internet presence is an important instrument for positioning Allianz as an attractive employer and entering into dialogue with suitable candidates.

Allianz is planning to further enhance its online applications system for 2014, for example by integrating social networks. In addition, applicants can get to know future colleagues through videos: "What do they do? What has their career and personal path been like so far? And also: What limitations does the job bring?" - All questions which are of interest to applicants, and which Allianz wants to answer.

Each year since 2002, potentialpark has conducted a study of companies' online services for applicants. For this year's study, the institute questioned almost 24,000 students from 85 countries worldwide about their preferences. It assessed over 3,400 websites of various employers in Europe, Asia and the US based on over 300 different criteria. As well as looking at the careers websites, Potentialpark also looks at the companies' online applications systems, social media pages and mobile career sites.
