Allianz launches mobile online application tool

In October 2013 Allianz went live with a mobile Applicant Tracking System (ATS). At www.allianz.com/careers/mobilesearch, applicants can access Allianz's global job portal from their mobile devices.

Potential candidates can search for vacant positions within the Allianz Group worldwide, create a profile, and apply for positions directly from their smartphone or tablet.

The mobile application feature is particularly user-friendly and does not require a specific app.

Users do not need to submit a cover letter or upload documents such as references. Applicants only have to provide details of relevant work experience and training for the position, plus a telephone number. After the application is reviewed by HR, the candidate is directly contacted to discuss the next steps.

"Our new mobile job portal puts Allianz a step ahead," says Christian Finckh, Chief Human Resources Officer of the Allianz Group. "Having already optimized our careers website for mobile devices in mid-2012 and with mobile Internet usage steadily on the rise, the next logical step for us was to transfer the job search and application processes to mobile devices."

The new tool allows Allianz to offer a consistent experience to job seekers who only use the Internet on their smartphones - without having to switch media or resort to the desktop.

A new tool apt for a new behaviour in job applications

"We are already working on additional mobile recruiting features," says Finckh. "Soon, applicants will be able to link their profiles directly to established career networks such as Xing and LinkedIn, meaning that they will be able to send us their mobile application or the résumé they have stored on these networks with just one click. The move is designed to reflect the changes in the job application behavior of younger people in particular, and also lowers the application hurdles for very specific job profiles for which we would usually have to search longer."

The online "Match me if you can" game - Allianz's new global "interest matcher" - is also about job profiles. In this case, the company is the applicant. The user lets various types of jobs compete against each other and, based on his or her interest, decides which job category should advance to the next round. In the end, the game presents the most suitable job profiles. Participants can then directly apply for these positions.

The diversity of online measures highlights the important role of the Internet in competing for the best talents. Last year, Allianz SE's online employer branding activities were voted the best in Europe by the renowned market research institute "Potentialpark".
