Klaus-Peter Röhler succeeds Axel Theis

Axel Theis (62), Member of the Board of Allianz SE responsible for insurance in German-speaking countries and Central and Eastern Europe, retires at his own request on March 31, 2020 after more than 33 years at Allianz. Klaus-Peter Röhler (55), currently Chairman of the Board of Management of Allianz Deutschland AG and Allianz Versicherungs-AG, has been appointed by the Supervisory Board as his successor effective April 1, 2020.

Röhler will retain his role at Allianz Deutschland AG. At Allianz Versicherungs-AG he will be succeeded by Frank Sommerfeld as Chairman of the Board of Management effective April 1, 2020.

For three decades Axel Theis was a driving force for the continuous development of our property and casualty segment worldwide. With Klaus-Peter Röhler, he is succeeded by a very experienced insurance manager who has achieved lasting successes as CEO of several units.”

Supervisory Board of Allianz SE newly elected

At the Annual General Meeting of Allianz SE today, a new Supervisory Board was elected as scheduled. Rashmy Chatterjee, Chairwoman of the Board of Management of ISTARI Global Ltd, London, was elected to the Supervisory Board for the first time.
