Allianz-Claus Stickler and Andreas Gruber will co-lead AIM.

Claus Stickler and Andreas Gruber will co-lead AIM.

As of January 1, 2017 Allianz Investment Management SE (AIM) will have a joint leadership in order to strengthen global functions and the network. Claus Stickler and Andreas Gruber will co-lead AIM as Managing Directors.

They will succeed the current AIM CEO, Günther Thallinger, who will join the board of management of Allianz SE starting January 1, 2017, taking over the responsibility for Investment Management as well as Global Life and Health from Maximilian Zimmerer, who retires on December 31, 2016.

In the new management set-up, Claus Stickler will take responsibility e.g. for all platforms such as asset manager management, investment monitoring and reporting, investment operations and AIM operations. Andreas Gruber will be in charge of Asset Liability Management, Strategic Asset Allocation, investment strategy and all portfolios.

AIM, since its  start almost 10 years ago, has grown into a fully-fledged investment management function, integrating all investment areas across Allianz operating entities. Over the past decade, AIM has been a role model for international collaboration and joint development of investment solutions within the Allianz Group. Comparison with competitors shows that AIM today is one of the strongest insurance investors.

  About AIM

AIM is responsible for steering the investment of premiums earned by Allianz insurance companies worldwide in the life/health as well as the property/casualty segment.

Hence, AIM turns premiums from insurance customers into investment returns and builds the bridge between the insurance and the capital market.

The execution of the investments is performed by selected asset managers.

AIM operates as a global network of local offices with approximately 600 employees in more than 60 countries. These offices are organized in regional hubs: Munich, Milan, Minneapolis, Paris and Singapore. This set-up covers life/health and property/casualty portfolios of every Allianz insurance company.
