Change of personnel

Sabia Schwarzer (45) will take over as Head of Group Communications for the Allianz Group on November 1, 2015. Schwarzer, of German-Indian descent and formerly a journalist for Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, joined Allianz in 1996 as Regional Head of Communications and Marketing for Asia-Pacific. From the regional headquarters in Singapore she set up and developed the communications and marketing department. In 2000 she was appointed Head of Communications and Marketing for the Group in North America (Nafta). She is married and has three children.

 

As of October 31, Emilio Galli Zugaro (54) will leave the Allianz Group on the best of terms after more than 23 years at the helm of corporate communications. Galli Zugaro will in future work as an executive coach, non-executive director, lecturer and consultant in Italy and Germany and will in addition remain associated with Allianz in a consulting capacity. He will also remain a member of the Board of Trustees of the Allianz Cultural Foundation.

As a result, Allianz is now able to appoint Sabia Schwarzer, an experienced communications manager who possesses outstanding knowledge of the business and management in Europe, Asia and North America, and who has successfully met the challenges of the positions she has held. She will further develop global communications at Allianz to meet the needs of the future," said Oliver Bäte, the designated CEO of Allianz SE.
