Third Allianz Golf Camp at St Andrews Links with Paul McGinley, Moritz and Karolin Lampert

Allianz welcomed 18 young golfers from eleven countries to St Andrews Links, Scotland, for the third annual Allianz Golf Camp from August 22-25, 2015. The group had the exceptional opportunity to play on the world’s oldest golf course and train with their respective mentors such as father, mother or older siblings at the renowned St Andrews Links Golf Academy. During the four-day golfing adventure, the passionate golfers aged 14 to 17 acquired new skills and made friends for life.

Christian Deuringer, Head of Global Brand Management, Allianz SE said: “The Allianz Golf Camp has a very special place within the youth programs of our global sponsoring portfolio. To play at iconic St Andrews and meet their role model is an unforgettable experience for these young talents. There is a wonderful team spirit at the camp which is all about giving the participants a little extra confidence that they are capable to reach their highest goals.”

A highlight for this year’s participants and mentors was meeting their golf stars. 2014 European Ryder Cup-winning captain Paul McGinley, European Tour players Moritz Lampert and his sister Karolin coached the young talents from eleven countries: Austria, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“I thoroughly enjoy being involved with these young golfers and getting the opportunity to share my knowledge. Golf is a life long journey that has many ups and downs and ultimately this makes you stronger and a better player. The passion and enthusiasm of these boys and girls is truly contagious,” said Paul McGinley.

At St Andrews Links Golf Academy the participants are taught golfing skills while having access to the latest technology, for example in swing analysis. The camp is also an overall inspiring experience that will help them grow, on-and-off the course.
