FC Bayern München star Ribéry visits the Allianz Junior Football Camp 2014

FC Bayern München star player Franck Ribéry made a special appearance at the Allianz Junior Football Camp prior to the 2014-15 Bundesliga season kick-off.

For the sixth consecutive year, Allianz has invited 75 young football players for an once-in-a-lifetime experience to train like the professionals and learn invaluable tips and tricks. The young players come from 28 different countries including Germany, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Switzerland, Hungary, Turkey and Thailand.

In the year of the 2014 World Cup, the Allianz Junior Football Camp aims to bring together people from around the world to promote international exchange, with the aim to teach youth respect for other cultures and nationalities. The camp highlights the importance of being part of a team, and by having FC Bayern players such as Ribéry to offer support, the camp further helps inspire youth to follow their passion and achieve their goals.

As part of the program, the group met FC Bayern München and former French national player Ribéry, who spent some time with the star-struck group. They also took part in a training session at Säbener Strasse with professional trainers and youth coaches from FC Bayern München. The teenagers took advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities where they were given tips to improve skills such as target shooting, ball juggling and passing, as well as skills concerning mental elements of the game.

In addition to the football training program, the group is also partaking in a tour of Munich’s cultural highlights, paying a visit to FCB Erlebniswelt and taking a behind-the-scenes tour of the Allianz Arena. The teenagers are also invited to the opening match of the 2014-15 Bundesliga season between FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena.

Franck Ribéry, FC Bayern München and former French national player, said: “Spending time with the young group at the Allianz Junior Football Camp and sharing some pointers has been a nostalgic experience and reminds me of when I was first starting out in football. It is truly inspirational to see the level of passion within this international group of kids and how the camp offers a really great platform of support. It is great to be able to pass on my knowledge of the game to the next generation as others have done for me – it really makes a difference.”

Dr. Christian Deuringer, Head of Global Brand Management, Allianz SE said: “As part of our long-term partnership with FC Bayern München, we are particularly proud of the Allianz Junior Football Camp due to the unique global reach, world-class football and its commitment to youth. It gives young football players the opportunity of a lifetime to train with FC Bayern and share amazing experiences with other passionate footballers from around the world. In its sixth year, we have managed to establish the camp as a global community, this year welcoming 75 participants from thousands of applicants. The program demonstrates how Allianz can successfully translate our global vision of building the strongest financial community into something very tangible and attractive for young people around the globe.”
