They did it again: Allianz reconfirmed in the FTSE4Good Index 2013

According to the latest index and ratings review in March 2013, Allianz was reconfirmed as a member company of the FTSE4Good Index series.

In 2013, Allianz - a constituent of the index series for more than a decade –  continues to be included in the FTSE4Good Index series with special recognition in the areas “countering bribery” and in “environmental management”.

The Allianz Anti-Corruption Program is the framework for effective anti-corruption measures and controls and guides employees through Allianz’s anti-corruption rules, the gifts and entertainment policy, and the Anti-Fraud principles. This has also been confirmed in an assessment by Transparency International in 2012, which recognized Allianz as being one of the world’s most transparent multinational companies.

Allianz is also recognized for its measures to reducing its climate change impacts and overall contribution to developing a low-carbon economy. Our overarching climate change strategy guides our activities as an investor, financial services provider and as a company. The group-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) ensures continuing improvement of our environmental performance.

Created by the global index company FTSE Group, FTSE4Good is an equity index series that is designed to facilitate investment in companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards. Companies in the FTSE4Good Index Series have met stringent environmental, social and governance criteria, and are positioned to capitalise on the benefits of responsible business practice.

Besides FTSE4Good, Allianz is rated by a number of sustainability indices and is able to maintain excellent rankings. Allianz ranks second in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and is the global number eight in the Carbon Disclosure Project. CDP especially recognized Allianz’s efforts to give clear considerations to climate-change-related business and the internal data management to measure greenhouse gas emissions and energy use.

Independent ratings serve as yardsticks in helping us achieve our objective of being perceived as a trusted financial services provider.
