Berlin, November 14, 2012 – The Berlin Demography Forum will be held for the second time from January 9 to 10, 2013. After getting off to a successful start in January 2012, the independent platform is now once again bringing together representatives from the fields of politics, academia, business and civil society. 2013 is set to focus on issues relating to "Generations - Learning - Prosperity". The forum was initiated by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ) and Allianz. The conference will once again be led by ambassador Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Ischinger and Prof. Jörg Rocholl, President of the ESMT European School of Management and Technology.
The Berlin Demography Forum addresses the challenges created by demographic change on a cross-party, interdisciplinary basis. The second forum will be focusing primarily on interaction between the individual generations, the need and prerequisites for lifelong learning, and the conditions for social and personal prosperity.
The high-profile participants in the Berlin Demography Forum include not only the Federal Minister of Family Affairs, Dr. Kristina Schröder, but also the Minister for the Interior Dr. Hans-Peter Friedrich, Allianz CEO Michael Diekmann, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Polish Minister for Employment and Social Affairs and Philip D. Murphy, Ambassador of the United States of America in Germany.
