Allianz and FC Bayern open new athletics grounds of German school in Rome

The official ceremony takes place on November 23 and will be attended by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of the board of directors of FC Bayern München, as well as representatives of Allianz and the German embassy. That evening, FC Bayern München plays AS Rome in the Italian capital.

"We are very pleased to be able to celebrate the opening of the new outdoor sports facility with the support of the Federal Republic of Germany, Allianz and FC Bayern München. The motto of the event is Learning for the Champions League," says Ulrich Berner, director of the German School in Rome.

A shining example: Allianz supports the athletic development and education of upcoming generations (f.l.t.r.: Eike Buergel, Ulrich Berner, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Michael H. Gerdts)

One of the most renowned international schools in Rome, the "Deutsche Schule Rome" provides a high-quality, future-oriented education for more than 900 children of all ages, from kindergarten to high school, preparing them to play an active part in shaping the future of the European Union. The educational goal is to instil a sense of responsibility, independence, cooperation and tolerance.

"Allianz supports the athletic development and education of upcoming generations. Football is our common language that is spoken in nearly all countries," says Eike Bürgel, Brand Communication Manager of Allianz, one of the world's leading financial services providers. As part of the football commitment, Allianz hosts the Allianz Junior Football Camp each year, enabling young people from all over the world come to Munich to train with the FC Bayern for one week.

Football legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, himself the father of five, says: "Playing sports is part of a happy childhood and must be part of a well-rounded education. At FC Bayern München we are always glad to support and promote sports, and do so whenever and wherever we can."
