Allianz opens forum for the future

"We want a Forum to allow open debate on pressing issues. The idea is to develop positions and share them with the general public before they get lost in the day-to-day struggle for tactical advantages", explained the Chairman of the Board of Management of Allianz SE, Michael Diekmann, at the opening of the Allianz Forum on Berlin's Pariser Platz today.

Right next to the Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of how the barrier that once split the world into East and West was broken down using peaceful means, is where institutions and representatives from the worlds of business, academia, politics and civil society will be debating topics such as demographic change, environmental and climate protection, sustainable growth, intercultural dialog and the future of Europe.

"We will be looking for new answers and solutions together and will be inviting charitable organizations, in particular, to become active members of the Forum", said Michael Diekmann. The building was previously used mainly by Dresdner Bank. Its central location and generous function areas meant that Pariser Platz 6 had already established itself as a sought-after event location.

The Allianz Forum's first guest will be welcomed on Monday, July 11: the American Council on Germany with its colloquium "The Transatlantic Partnership in the 21st Century".
