Allianz acquires office building from SIGNA

Allianz Real Estate Germany GmbH has acquired the office building "Spherion" in Duesseldorf from SIGNA Property Funds. The property is one of the most prominent office buildings in Duesseldorf. The investment volume is around 100 million euros.

In 2004 "Spherion" was constructed in consideration of sustainability requirements and is certified as green building by the EU-Green-Building-Program. It has a total lettable area of about 28,000 square meters and is fully let to Deloitte & Touche.

Frank Toelle, CEO of SIGNA Property Funds: "Being a company based in Duesseldorf with this sale we separate from one of the most attractive assets in our city. Once the renovation of the facade is finished, the position of the asset in the office market of Duesseldorf will be even stronger."

Allianz Real Estate Germany acquired the property on behalf of various Allianz companies. "This investment fully corresponds to our current investment strategy which is focusing on investments in office and retail properties in prime locations", says Stefan Brendgen, CEO of Allianz Real Estate Germany GmbH. "With this deal we have reached an investment volume of over 1 billion euros already in 2010 worldwide."

The transaction was initiated by JonesLang LaSalle. Allianz Real Estate Germany was advised by Clifford Chance. SIGNA was supported by RAE Heckmann Pellengahr, Todtenhoefer Partnergesellschaft.
