Allianz Suisse wins innovation award

Post, fax, e-mail or telephone, that is how brokers and Allianz Suisse exchanged data in the past. The broker filled out insurance applications and mediated them to Allianz Suisse, whose employees entered them into the administration system. After they had been processed, brokers received an offer. If the application changed, the whole thing was repeated - a slow process susceptible to errors.

With the award-winning broker and cooperation portal, everything that brokers and partners require for the quick processing of business transactions is now available online. Following registration in the portal – the password is sent as a text message via mobile phone – business partners have access to customer, policy and claims data. It is possible to calculate premiums, prepare offers, make modifications and assessments and even settle claims 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. This applies to all products in personal and corporate business with small and mid-sized companies.

Quicker processing times, better data quality and lower costs are only a few advantages of the new IT solution which enjoys a high level of acceptance by its users: four out of five brokers conduct their business via the portal. In the case of business partners (e.g. automobile importers or repair shops), the share is 100 percent.

As far as the degree of automation is concerned, brokers praise the Allianz Suisse web portal to be the best on the market. This was borne out by the representative "Broker-Panel Schweiz" survey in June 2007.

Not only were processes improved and sped up. The online portal also fundamentally redesigned the cooperation with brokers. "We integrate brokers and other sales partners more closely in our value-added chain as insurers", emphasizes Manfred Knof, Allianz Suisse CEO. Partners are being actively involved in underwriting and equipped with their own competencies.

Through the new business model, Allianz Suisse is gaining more and more cooperation partners: repair shops and vehicle importers such as Emil Frey AG, Frankonia or the  insurance service of Volkswagen AG are already using the portal today. Manfred Knof: "Allianz Suisse’s objective is to further expand this sales channel and to attract more partners to this innovative portal."

The Swiss insurance industry’s innovation award has been presented for the ninth time. It acknowledges new, innovative services and products in the insurance industry.

With a premium volume of 3.7 billion Swiss francs, Allianz Suisse is one of Switzerland’s largest insurance companies. It employs around 3500 people and is part of the Allianz Group.
