Strategic partnership with Fujitsu Services

In summer 2006, Allianz Dresdner Informationssysteme GmbH (AGIS), the German IT subsidiary of Allianz, announced a forthcoming strategic cooperation for desktop, network and telecommunication services. The contract for Germany now made with Fujitsu Services GmbH has a total net value of some 400 million euros. Approximately 500 jobs will be transferred to Fujitsu Services as a part of the cooperation agreement.

"A major issue while looking for a partner to take on this business group was finding good perspectives for the future for the employees who are affected. We have identified an appropriate partner in Fujitsu Services. The growth strategy of Fujitsu Services also offers clear perspectives for our employees in their areas of expertise.

The service portfolio and service quality delivered by Fujitsu were powerful factors that persuaded AGIS and our internal customers. Overall, the long-term partnership will provide the necessary flexibility and synergies required to support our German customers, Allianz Deutschland and Dresdner Bank, with innovative IT services."

"We are very aware of the importance of this strategic partnership for AGIS, and hence Allianz, and we will make every effort to ensure that this project is a major success for everyone involved over the long term.

Compared with many of our big competitors, we have no overcapacities on the personnel side. This outtasking contract is very good news, as far as I am concerned, because it fits in with our plans for growth in Germany. We are expanding our strength in the field of desktop managed services to give us the capability to win and implement other contracts. The staff we have acquired will be part of a bigger, European service organization. They play an important role in our growth strategy."
