FFIC expands entertainment division

Fireman's Fund is the recognized leader in insuring the entertainment industry, a specialty business that includes film and television productions, television commercials, documentaries and musical artists.

With an over 80-year history, the Entertainment division at Fireman's Fund is dedicated to helping producers, studios and musical artists achieve the artistic results they are seeking, yet also ensure the safety of all productions. Its dedicated team of insurance professionals includes specialized underwriters and loss control experts who each have about 20 years of experience in the entertainment field.

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company is enhancing its Entertainment division with the addition of Jerid Schmickle, who specializes in assessing the risks of touring musical artists and their concert vendors. Schmickle brings extensive knowledge of the music and performed media segment. He has worked in sales at an agency and has built a successful Music Underwriting program. His passion for the music business comes from being an artist himself. This addition to the entertainment team gives Fireman's Fund the opportunity to focus on growth in this important sector of the industry.

"Today Fireman's Fund underwrites musical talent by concentrating on a relatively narrow niche of the overall industry," said Joe Finnegan, vice president of the Entertainment division for Fireman's Fund. "This addition allows us to insure the full gamut of musical artists, reinforcing our commitment to the musical artists and their specialized exposures. It broadens our appetite and products to more fully meet the true demands of this unique customer."
