Semi-AUTOnomous driving: safer and cheaper

Nine out of 10 traffic accidents are caused by human error. This can be dramatically reduced with semi-autonomous vehicles equipped with emergency breaking systems, automatic parking or adaptive cruise control. These features will soon revolutionize the car industry, making for safer driving and leading to lower claims costs for insurers.

“We have high hopes for these new technologies. As European studies show, they will play a key role in improving road safety, one of Allianz’s priorities for many years,” said François Nédey, Chief Underwriting Officer Property-Casualty at Allianz France.

Allianz France has therefore launched a unique offer for semi-autonomous vehicles, with a rebate of up to 25 percent on the insurance premium, the first offer of its kind in France. Already, some 2,000 drivers are cruising the roads with this Allianz protection since its launch in May. More will follow. By 2035, around 30 percent of all vehicles will be partially or fully automated, according to a study by consultancy Oliver Wyman. Allianz will support this evolution by passing on its savings to customers. Learn more about the policy at www.allianz.fr.
