For the first time in the history of the Paralympic Games, all sports will be captured and broadcast live, with France Télévisions as the official broadcaster for the duration of the Games (August 28th through Sept 8th).

Allianz’s journey with the Paralympic Movement dates to 2006, when Allianz SE became Gold Patron of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and national supporter of the German National Paralympic Committee (Deutscher Behindertensportverband, DBS). After 5 years in those roles, Allianz became the first International Partner of the IPC in 2011 , and building on this collaboration, began its eight-year worldwide TOP partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in 2021, which covers Paris 2024, Milano-Cortina 2026 and LA28.

This partnership between Allianz and the Paralympic Movement is not just about sponsorship. It's a genuine alignment of values and goals. Allianz is German for ‘’alliance’’ or ‘’union,’’ and by supporting sports, we are getting behind a globally unifying power. The prefix ‘’para’’ in the world of Paralympics means ‘’alongside’’ in Greek – the idea being that the Paralympic Games exist alongside the Olympic Games.

Allianz supports the International Paralympic Committee’s belief in a world where every individual, irrespective of their physical capabilities, has an equal chance to compete and excel – may it be in a corporate office or on the field of play. Allianz ambassadors Nico Langmann (Austria), Wheelchair Tennis, and Nagore Folgado (Spain), Athletics, are getting ready to compete in a few days. ‘’I have no doubt that I will give my 100%’’ says Nagore, as she reaches the final stage of her preparation.

All wide-ranging coverage solutions and services offered by Allianz in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, are also in place at the Paralympics Paris 2024. These include commercial coverages for liability or cyber as well as ticket cancellation, medical and roadside assistance programs, personal accident insurance for national teams and property damage insurance for selected venues.

Most sport venues used in the Olympics will be used again for the Paralympics, albeit for different sports. Wheelchair basketball will happen in the Bercy Arena (used in the Olympics for artistic gymnastics, basketball, and trampoline) and blind football will take place at the popular Eiffel Tower Stadium (converted from the Olympics beach volleyball stadium). The Para-Marathon will set out from La Courneuve at the heart of Seine-Saint-Denis’ main green hub: Parc Georges Valbon and finish at the same place as the Olympics marathon - Esplanade des Invalides.

Over the years, the IPC and Allianz have strengthened their collaboration resulting in joint campaigns that amplify the Paralympic values of courage, determination, inspiration, and equality – and put Para athletes in the spotlight, allowing us to learn from their experiences. Most recently and ahead of the Paralympics kicking off August 28th, in partnership with the IPC, Allianz explores each Paralympic sport in 22 short informative videos, also available in the Paris 2024 web and app and shown in the venues ahead of the competitions.

During this long-standing and mutually beneficial ongoing cooperation, Allianz is committed to help foster public awareness for inclusion and generate a greater interest in Paralympic sports.

After years of preparation, we’re thrilled to see the athletes, teams and fans inspiring the world again at the Paralympic Games,”´says Eike Bürgel, Global Head of Olympic and Paralympic Program at Allianz.
