Corporate Responsibility Approach

At Allianz, we aim to create sustainable economic value by pursuing a long-term approach to corporate governance, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. In the course of our history of 128 years, we have developed the culture, systems, and processes that enable us to do just that. This is critical to our business success, as we are committed to delivering on our promises to customers, to investors, to communities, and to society as a whole.

In 2017, we took the leading position among all rated insurance companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) ranking, scoring 87 out of 100 points. Companies are ranked according to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, assessing their strategy and performance.

Non-Financial Report

The non-financial report has been compiled in accordance with the CSR Directive Implementation Act (EU Directive 2014/95/EU). It focuses on the key performance indicators (KPIs) that reflect our most material sustainability issues as well as on the KPIs we use across the Group to manage our business. The structure and content of the report is based on the legal requirements set out by the CSR legislation.

Allianz SE and Allianz Group comply with the legal requirements to provide a non-financial statement and a non-financial Group statement by issuing a combined separate non-financial report for Allianz Group and Allianz SE. PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH WPG (PwC) has been engaged to perform a limited assurance engagement on the 2017 Non-Financial Report of the Allianz Group.
