This presentation gives a quick overview of the most prominent proposals, including Eurobonds, Red-Blue Bonds, Purple Bonds, Accountability Bonds, Synthetic Eurobonds, ESBies and ESIM, as well as highlights the strengths and weaknesses compared to the status quo. We conclude that the best solution combines financial instruments such as an insurance mechanism with existing bonds rather than introducing new forms of mutual debt.
