As a proud partner of contemporary art at MoMA, Allianz supports those who dare to take a step into the unknown, because we believe the world would be a better place if people had the courage to grow – and that taking chances is essential to progress.
Allianz and MoMA share the values of embracing change, taking risks and having the courage to try something new. Contemporary artists constantly push the boundaries within which art is created, and Allianz’ engagement in contemporary art underlines its interest in supporting risk-taking, change and the exploration of new ideas which is essential to progress. The partnership with MoMA includes Allianz as the lead sponsor of several of the Museum’s contemporary art exhibitions.
MoMA and MoMA PS1 welcome millions of visitors every year. As one of the leading institutions for the art of our times, The Museum of Modern Art focuses on architecture and design, drawings, film, media, painting and sculpture, photography, prints and illustrated books.
MoMA will present Stephen Shore, the first U.S. survey to encompass the entirety of Stephen Shore’s career in photography, from the gelatin silver prints he made as a teenager to his current work with digital platforms, from November 19, 2017 through May 28, 2018. The exhibition will include hundreds of photographic works along with additional materials including books, ephemera, and objects.
Juxtaposing significant works by emerging and mid-career artists—all made in the past decade and recently acquired by The Museum of Modern Art—Unfinished Conversations: New Work from the Collection is on view from March 19 through July 30, 2017. The exhibition considers intertwining themes of social protest, the effect of history on identity, and how art juxtaposes fact and fiction, through works by more than a dozen artists.
"Lovers" is an immersive, room-sized multimedia installation by Japanese artist Teiji Furuhashi. Set foot inside the installation, and listen in on a conversation between Furuhashi and MoMA curator, Barbara London, recorded in 1994, just months before the work's inaugural exhibition at MoMA.
