Golf as we know it today originated on what is now called the Old Course at St Andrews Links. From its humble beginnings over 600 years ago, the Links has evolved into the largest public golf complex in Europe.
Known for three consecutive Ryder Cup wins with the European Team as well as his victorious 2014 team captainship, Irish golf champion Paul McGinley is a global ambassador for Allianz golf activities and initiatives.
The 2015 Solheim Cup will be held in Germany for the first time in its 25-year history. The twelve best female golfers from Europe and the US will compete for the coveted trophy at the St. Leon-Rot Golf Club.
