Golf is one of the world’s most popular sports: the 60 million golfers worldwide include men and women of all ages, and passion for the sport is often shared within families and passed down through generations. By supporting golf at both the professional and amateur levels, Allianz encourages community engagement, strengthens family bonds, promotes business relationship building, and helps young people learn and develop golf skills to become tomorrow’s champions.
Allianz holds a global partnership with the most iconic golf venue in the world: St Andrews Links , the “Home of Golf” located in eastern Scotland, where some of the world’s first golf games were played by men and women over 600 years ago. In addition, Allianz holds partnerships with other golf venues on a national level such as Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, outside of Heidelberg, Germany. These relationships not only allow us to work with some of the biggest names and most popular events in professional golf, but also provide us with many opportunities to enhance the individual experiences of the men and women for whom golf is an exciting hobby to share with their colleagues, business partners, friends, and families.
We are fortunate also to have ongoing partnerships with Paul McGinley, Europe’s captain of the winning 2014 Ryder Cup team; Beatriz Recari, winner of the 2013 Solheim Cup with the European Team; and Moritz Lampert, European Tour player. All three are crucial in helping us achieve our mission to expand interest in golf and make the sport accessible to a broader segment of society.
Our commitment to youth and women’s golf runs deep: Allianz is a global partner of the 2015 Solheim Cup, one of the world’s most prestigious women’s golf tournaments. Along with Golf Club St. Leon-Rot, we have also initiated Lucky 33, one of the fastest-growing youth golf training program in Germany, and the Allianz Golf Camp, a once-in-a-lifetime summer golf intensive for young people and their mentors at St Andrews Links.
Aside from these highlighted engagements, we participate in many other activities around the world: the Allianz Championship in Florida is a popular yearly event featuring top PGA Champions Tour professionals; the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open is played by some of the world’s top female golfers in Slovakia; and Allianz Group member company Euler Hermes is a partner of the French Golf Federation, hosting the 2018 Ryder Cup. Our golf engagements are constantly growing and evolving to keep up with changes in the business world and throughout society.
All of Allianz’s golf partnerships aim to expand the appeal of the sport, develop the future of both amateur and professional golf, and strengthen the emotional bonds that golf helps to build among friends and families.
