Allianz commenced its activities in the Croatian insurance market in 1998 by taking over the local company "Adriatic osiguranje". Today, Allianz Zagreb offers a wide range of life and non-life insurance products to both individuals and corporations.

Allianz Zagreb is the largest life insurer and one of the largest general insurers in Croatia. Primary business fields are life and property insurance. In the asset management market, Allianz ZB, part of the Allianz Group, manages the largest obligatory pension fund and voluntary pension funds in the country, holding over 40% of the market.
