Allianz – aiming at leading financial services provider in China
Allianz, as the first international insurer, signed cooperation agreements on reinsurance support and know-how transfer with Chinese insurance companies in the early ‘80s.
In 1994, Allianz established representative offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (the last was closed after operation of Allianz P&C branch started).

- Allianz China Life Insurance Co. (AZCL), the first European life insurance company in China since Jan. 1999;
- Allianz Insurance Company Guangzhou Branch (AZCN) since Feb. 2003;
- Guotai Junan Allianz Fund Management Co. since April 2003;
- Dresdner Bank AG Shanghai (1993) and Beijing (1997) Branch;
- Mondial Assistance China since 2003
In 2006, the total premium income of Allianz in China reached RMB 1.35 billion (135 million euros), which equals an increase of more than 250% compared to the previous year.

- Allianz China Life (AZCL): AZCL won a strong reputation for professional service, tailor-made products matching individual or corporate financial needs. It offers a broad scope of insurance services to individual and corporate clients through a multi-channel distribution system. With strong international experience of Allianz in cross-channel distribution, product design and risk management, AZCL aims to become the leading international life insurer in China.
- Allianz Insurance Company Guangzhou Branch (AZCN), Allianz’s first property insurance branch in China, introduces products and risk transfer solutions to meet the specific needs of different target clients. AZCN is focusing on business expansion and enhancing its service network in Guangdong.
- Dresdner bank offers wide range of investment bank, transaction and credit products and services to international and Chinese corporate and individual clients through the Global Banking and Capital Markets business lines. The QFII license allows the bank to enhance business in China to include investment and trading activities in yuan-denominated bonds and A-shares on Chinese exchanges.
- Guotai Junan Allianz Fund Management Co. provides exquisite fund products to cater for the various demands of investors. With GTJA’s fund distribution network, and Allianz’s international expertise in risk management, internal control, product design and portfolio management, GTJA-Allianz aims to be the most prestigious and innovative fund management companies with best performance in China.
- Mondial Assistance China has the structure & capability to provide service-based solutions on a nation-wide basis. Working in partnership primarily with car manufacturers & insurance companies, Mondial Assistance currently provides roadside assistance & travel medical assistance services in mainland China.
Sales Channels
Multi-channel distribution system includes professional agents’ teams, bank branches, brokers, agency companies and direct sales teams for key account corporate customers. ICBC, Chinese No.1 bank, is Allianz’s most important bancassurance partner in China.
