Our Foundation for Sustainability supports projects that are geared towards environmental stewardship. For example, the annual ‘Benediktbeurer Talks’ provide an independent forum for global company executives, scientists and environmentalists to discuss global environmental issues.

Our Foundation Umana Mente focuses on children and on families that need financial, psychological and organizational help, while our Indonesian Allianz Care Foundation is an example of our work in catastrophe-struck nations, and our Foundation for North America dedicates its efforts to providing youth with the skills and confidence to become independent, responsible adults able to make a contribution to the communities they live in.

In Germany, Allianz is a prominent member of the Donors’ Association for German Science, Social Science and Humanities, while we also try our utmost to promote the idea of a unified Europe, particularly among young people. This work is mainly achieved through the Allianz Cultural Foundation, which focuses on youth culture and Europe. This project has been conceived to encourage young adults to commit themselves to the future of Europe. The Foundation was recently awarded first prize by the Federation of German Industry in the ‘cultural promotion’ category. These kinds of investment are key if we are to continue to benefit from leading-edge social research.
