Demographic Change

In 2007, there were more than 700 million people aged 60 and older, and by 2050, this figure will rise to more than 2 billion.
The world’s population is changing. It is predicted that by 2050, it will have grown to more than nine billion people. But this growth will not be evenly spread and it will slow down in every region of the world. Whereas most less-developed countries will still see a growth in population within the next decades1, Europe’s population is already shrinking.
How Allianz responds to these changing demographics is crucial for the future success of the company.
