Allianz is one of the founding partners of the non-profit initiative dropping knowledge

Allianz has been involved in the non-profit initiative dropping knowledge since 2005 as one of the founding partners. The company embarked on this partnership to find solutions to global problems and encourage everyone, individuals as well as institutions and companies, to contribute to this process, by asking questions, providing answers or setting up subsequent initiatives. The current key issues for Allianz are ones that it has already begun to confront, namely climate change, poverty, microfinance and demographic change. The company hopes this dialog will provide momentum for its activities in both business and society.
Commitment and Dialog
Since several years, Allianz has been actively involved, with non-government organizations and institutions such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Worldwatch Institute, Germanwatch, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the OECD through various studies and projects. Now, through dropping knowledge, this involvement is to be developed into a public dialog.

Allianz is firmly convinced that the only way social change and development can happen is through a concerted effort. The opportunities for interactive networking offered by the internet help provide everything necessary - knowledge, contacts, publicity and financing.

The partnership with dropping knowledge is based on a mutual interest in the issues, a shared belief in the value of dialog involving the public.
Identifying and promoting potential solutions
Together with dropping knowledge, Allianz wants to identify potential solutions to global challenges and support their implementation, aided by the dialog on the dropping knowledge internet platform. The essential framework, for example ensuring project and financing transparency, involving the people concerned and cooperating with non-government organizations, will contribute to effective implementation. As well as benefiting society as a whole, by combining business and social commitment This approach, which combines business and social commitment, can help companies develop in their areas of competence and improve their public profile.

Allianz, together with many of its partners, has already made some preliminary contributions to the dialog that will start with the "Table of Free Voices" on September 9, 2006 in Berlin. These can be viewed on the Allianz Knowledge Site.
