In the first step an Integration Preparation Committee made up of representatives of the management team of both companies was set up. In addition, integration preparation teams were formed for various areas, including sales, products, equities, bonds, corporate services, IT, human resources and communication. The teams are now analyzing the essential functions of their companies and are working on implementing the integration scheduled for early 2009.

"We aim to combine the specific strengths of Allianz Global Investors and cominvest quickly and smoothly so that our investors can derive even greater benefit than now from our innovative, customer-oriented, efficient asset management solutions and global competence," explained Dr. Sebastian Klein, speaker of the management board of cominvest.

Together, the two companies will have assets under management worth 330 billion euros. Dr. Thomas Wiesemann, speaker of the management board of Allianz Global Investors Germany: "With the integration of cominvest in Allianz Global Investors we are further consolidating our market position as the leading asset manager in Germany."

Allianz Global Investors und cominvest are very optimistic about future growth prospects.  Allianz Global Investors / cominvest will be a preferred product supplier and sales partner of the new Commerzbank, a partner that has one of the most powerful and extensive branch office networks in Germany.
