In his new function, Antoine Issa will further strengthen the position of Allianz Saudi Fransi in Saudi Arabia. The company is a joint venture of Allianz and Bank Saudi Fransi, established in July 2007.

Antoine Issa possesses a deep knowledge of the insurance market in the Middle East with more than 18 years of experience within Allianz. Prior to his appointment, he was Deputy CEO at Allianz SNA Lebanon and previously Managing Director of Allianz Egypt and was significantly involved in the development of the company in Saudi Arabia.

"With Antoine Issa’s expertise and know-how he will give the company’s development a new push by implementing state-of-the art technologies and strengthening the insurer’s position in the Saudi Arabian market. This market plays an important role in the Middle East and shows enormous potential of growth," commented Sam Gosh, Allianz regional CEO of the Middle East and Indian subcontinent.

In September 2007, Allianz has established the Middle East as its third major growth region – in addition to Asia Pacific and New Europe – and sees growth potential in all business lines. The regional unit will assemble Allianz’s entities in Bahrain, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates. The central office will be located in Bahrain.
