The Allianz agencies have just won their one-millionth new customer for Dresdner Bank. This makes the year 2007 just as successful as 2006 and 2005, in terms of new customer acquisition. 300,000 new customers were acquired each year since 2005.

"The one-millionth banking customer stands for the success of our integrated financial services provider model," said Andree Moschner, member of the board of Dresdner Bank responsible for customers and products. With the help of Allianz, Dresdner Bank has increased its customer base to almost 6.4 million.

"Thanks to their acquisition activities, our Allianz representatives have laid the foundations for long-term provision of banking services via the agencies," commented Markus Rieß, head of sales at Allianz Deutschland AG. The intent is to continue to build on this in future. "In the coming years, we will carry on acquiring bank customers, but even more importantly, we need to focus on retaining these new customers with the help of our banking advice and products," said Rieß.

An ever-expanding partnership
In the last few years, Allianz and Dresdner Bank have continuously expanded their partnership, selling both banking products via the insurance channel and insurance policies through bank branches. Allianz has some 10,000 agencies in Germany, while Dresdner Bank has 900 branches, the largest branch network of any private bank in Germany. This makes Allianz and Dresdner Bank unique in Germany in that they can provide their customers with one-stop insurance and banking services at almost 11,000 locations.

The new concept of Allianz banking agencies, the first of which opened in February 2007, has also produced promising results: almost 120 banking agencies have opened to date. Each agency has a permanent Dresdner Bank adviser on site. Together, they and the Allianz representatives are able to offer customers a comprehensive range of personal provision and asset management products. "The collaboration is working marvelously and our customers see our combined offerings as an attractive service," said Dresdner Bank board member Moschner.
