On October 13, 2006 the merger of Allianz AG with the Italian Riunione Adriatica di Sicurtà S.p.A. was entered in the commercial register. Allianz AG thus adopted the legal form of a European company (Societas Europaea - SE) and bears the name of Allianz SE.
The SE is a legal form based on European law. The creation of the European Company Statute allows companies established in more than one EU Member State to merge and operate throughout the EU.
Allianz is the first company in the DJ EURO STOXX 50 Index that adopted the legal form of a European company. Since October 16, 2006 Allianz SE shares have been traded on all stock markets on which Allianz AG shares had previously been traded. On October 16, 2006 the shares of Allianz SE were also introduced on the Milan stock exchange.
